What's new in RM Compare?
Summer is a wonderful time from Team Compare to leave the compound here at RM Towers. For some of us this means a well-deserved break and a chance to re-charge the batteries. For others it can mean visits to new and existing users, or conferences and events.
The highlight this month was the Festival of Education held at Wellington College. The programme was excellent, packed with interesting presentations from world-leading education experts. It was great to see Adaptive Comparative Judgement on the agenda with a couple of talks delivered to packed rooms by some of our research partners. The interest in different (better!) forms of assessment has never been higher.
The phrase I heard more than any other in the assessment talks at the Festival was 'On-Demand'. It's fair to say that the requirements need some refining here, however the driving force is very much to see assessment as a formative as well as a summative experience. This is something we are extremely focused on.
