System Level Administration

System Level Administration refers to a situation where there are multiple child Licence Centres connected to a Parent Licence Centre. In such a case the Parent requires System Level Administration capability.

Current functionality

Connect first

In the example below we can see that this Parent Licence Centre has a number of active child connections. Importantly these connections have DataShare enabled.

View sessions in connected Licence Centres

As we can see in the example below, any Licence Centre Administrator on the Parent Licence can now see any session created in any of the connected Licence Centres.

Access is View Only right now, but you can see for example how the session was set up and have access to all the reporting (but not Data Extraction).

We can see the sessions because DataShare has been enabled on the Parent Licence Centre. If this were not enabled, we would not be able to see the sessions (The exception would be a Multi-Centre session created by the Parent, where child contributions would be visible).

Note however that any Session set as Private by the Child Session Creator would not be visible to the Parent.

Data Privacy and Control

Setting up connections requires explicit permission from both the Parent and the Child which can be withdrawn at any time.

Session Creators can set any session to Private.

What next?

We are in the early stages of developing System Level Administration functionality. We know there is a lot that could be included here such as

  • Data Extract from child sessions
  • Edit rights to child sessions
  • A dedicated Licence Centre Administrator portal
  • System Level Analytics
  • System Level account management

Keep an eye on the roadmap for the latest activities in this area. As always, we welcome your suggestions - you will find a 'Get in touch' link at the bottom of every page.
