When I create a session, who can see my data?

Putting users in control of their data is a fundamental principle behind how we build RM Compare - it is part of the over-arching approach of building data protection by design and default.

At its heart RM Compare is a collaborative system. Our technology brings people together safely to make better decisions. As a Session Creator it is important to understand the system principles, control mechanisms and key features.

Private Sessions

The Private Session button puts you in complete control

  • Turned ON: Only you can see the session
  • Turned OFF:
    • Licence Centre Administrators (LCA) in your Licence Centre can view your session
    • If your Licence Centre (LC) is connected to a Parent Licence Centre (PLC), then LCA's in the PLC can also view your session IF DataShare in enabled.
    • If you contribute to a Multi-Centre Session (MCS) being run by a connected PLC, then the contents of that MCS, including your contributions, will be viewable to LCA's in any PLC connected to the MCS Creator (unless they have set the session to Private) IF DataShare is enabled.
  • Note! Apart from yourself, everyone else has view only rights if they can see your session.

Turning on the Private Session button should be done with care, especially in a Multi-Centre scenario.

Connectors

Connections between Licence Centres can only be made by Licence Centre Administrators. Connections are made to facilitate collaboration between Licence Centres, for example for Multi-Centre sessions.

Read the Help Centre or contact your Licence Centre Administrator for more details.

Non-Standard Sessions

In addition to Standard Session, you may be permitted to create, or take part in, other session types including

  • A Standard Session with Contributing Judges (sometimes called a Peer Learning session).
  • A Multi-Centre session as a creator or contributor

Data-Sharing in each case is a bit different to regular, Standard Sessions. The Help Centre contains detailed guidance. If in doubt, ask you Licence Centre Administrator.
