Introducing RM Compare Manual On-Demand (BETA)

It's been almost a year since we began talking about the concept of RM Compare On-Demand. The thinking started much earlier than that of course and in the interim we have completed an eventful journey familiar to anyone working in innovation. During that time we have gained a huge amount of knowledge and understanding but recognise that we still have a long way to go. The best way to understand the core premise of our work is to take a look at this short animation.

Where are we now?

We have arrived at the point where we can allow users to turn their ranks simply and efficiently into rulers and can distribute them to others.

Remind me - what new opportunities does this unlock for 'ruler makers'?

You can read much more about On-Demand in the Help Centre, however there are a number of opportunities that could open up to 'ruler makers'.

'Manual' On-Demand you say?

Our first release delivers a manual 'matching' experience to ruler users. This enables us to get a basic comparative experience in the hands of users at the earliest possible point.

The next step is to turn the manual process into a proper Adaptive Comparative Judgement system - you will find a POC illustrating our current thoughts here.

The timeline on this is unclear but we are learning as fast as we can. You can see our roadmap here.

How will people use this new functionality?

We have written a lot about the potential uses and benefits of an On-Demand system, particularly around standardisation. We believe it can provide significant benefits and opportunities for both formative and summative assessment. The current functionality, while limited, will allow users to try out a number of different uses in a variety of contexts. We are excited to see what they do with it!

How can I take part?
