New! Creative Writing Ruler
At the recent launch of RM Compare | NOW we were able to showcase the new 'ruler' functionality by way of a couple of fun examples (Tea sSrength and Desk Tidyness).
These were of course only illustrative of what is possible with an On-Demand Adaptive Comparative Judgement system - the world of learning and assessment has not been stumbling around for finding better ways to make tea.
So we are delighted to say that we have been able to add our first 'proper' ruler, supplied by the Independent Schools Examination Board who have been a long term partner.
The new ruler was create from this years Time to Write competition - you can read more about it here. RM Compare and the ISEB have worked together on the competition for a number of years.
The competition is judged using RM Compare | Studio which produces a highly reliable rank that helps us to understand a number of things, including the quality of the Items submitted.
It is this rank order that has been used to create the ruler that is now generally available.
Users can now quickly assess new pieces of writing against this standard.
A few things to note
The primary aim of this release is to help us to learn. Initially things are deliberately 'skinny' to prioritise the speed of the feedback loop. We know there are lots things we might do here - we are not short of opportunity! Please try it out and let us have your thoughts.

What's next?
RM Compare | NOW has evolved using a 'mobile first' approach. This has a number of advantages that we have described before.
However, our intention has always been to make the new user experience device agnostic - it should work on pretty much any device. This work is well advanced and we will have an announcement soon.
