1. Access the Portfolios in Google Drive
- Navigate to Google Classroom:
- Log in to Google Classroom and locate the assignment where students have submitted their portfolios (Google Slides).
- Open the Portfolios:
- Open each student’s Google Slides portfolio to ensure it is complete and correct.
2. Check and Adjust Sharing Settings
- Open Google Drive:
- Locate the Google Slides files (portfolios) in your Google Drive, typically in the “Classroom” folder.
- Set Sharing Permissions:
- Right-click on each portfolio file.
- Select Share.
- Set the sharing permission to “Anyone with the link can view” or restrict to your organisation as appropriate.
- This is essential to ensure that all viewers can access the portfolios via RM Compare.
- Verify Access:
- Test the link in an incognito or private browser window to ensure it works without requiring a login.
3. Collect Portfolio Links
- Obtain the Shareable Link:
- For each portfolio, click Share and copy the shareable link.
- Paste each link into a document for reference (e.g., a Google Doc or spreadsheet).
- Organise the Links:
- Assign a clear name to each link (e.g., Child1_Portfolio, Child2_Portfolio).
4. Prepare for RM Compare
- Open RM Compare on Your PC:
- Log in to your RM Compare account as the Session Creator.
- Create or Open a Session:
- Start a new session or open an existing one where you want to add the portfolios.
5. Add Portfolio Links as Web Items
- Add Items as Webpages:
- Click Add Items or the equivalent upload button.
- Choose the option to add a webpage or web link (not to upload a file).
- Paste the shareable link for each portfolio.
- Repeat for All Portfolios:
- Add all 20 portfolio links as separate web items.
6. Quality Assurance (QA)
- Review Portfolio Access:
- Open each portfolio link within RM Compare to ensure it loads correctly and displays all pages.
- Review Items for Quality and Content:
- Check for Inappropriate Content:
- Carefully review each uploaded item to ensure it does not contain any inappropriate content.
- Check for PII (Personally Identifiable Information):
- Ensure that no items contain sensitive data such as full names, addresses, or other personal information that should not be shared.
- Check for Inappropriate Content:
- Check Item Orientation:
- Use the Rotate Feature:
- If any item is upside down or sideways, use the “Rotate Items” feature in RM Compare to correct the orientation for easier viewing and assessment.
- Use the Rotate Feature:
- Confirm QA Completion for Each Item:
- After you have completed all checks for an item, use the QA functionality to confirm that QA is complete.
- Click the relevant QA button for each item to record and audit that it has been checked.
- This is essential before running the session, as items cannot be removed or added once the session starts.
7. Removing and Re-adding Items
- Remove an Item:
- In the session, select the portfolio link you wish to remove.
- Click Remove or Delete (follow on-screen prompts).
- Re-upload an Item:
- Adjust sharing settings or correct the portfolio as needed.
- Obtain a new shareable link.
- Add the corrected portfolio as a new web item.
- Repeat all QA checks (content, PII, orientation, naming) for the re-uploaded item.
- Confirm QA completion by clicking the QA button for the re-uploaded item.
7. Final Checks
- Confirm All Items:
- Double-check that all 20 items are present and correctly named.
- Confirm QA Completion:
- Ensure that the QA button has been used for every item, recording that all checks are complete.
- Save Your Session:
- Ensure your session is saved before exiting.
Tips for Success
- Consistent Naming: Use clear, consistent names for each item to avoid confusion—now done directly in RM Compare before the session runs.
- Quality and Safety First: Always check for inappropriate content and PII before sharing or assessing.
- Correct Orientation: Use the rotate feature to ensure all handwriting is easy to read.
- QA Completion: Always confirm QA is complete for each item before running the session.
