Recipe
1. Digitising the Handwriting (Using iPhone)
- Set Up a Well-Lit Area
- Ensure the children’s handwriting is clear and free from shadows.
- Open the Camera App
- Use your Android phone’s camera.
- Photograph Each Piece
- Take a photo of each child’s handwriting (you’ll have 20 items)
- Make sure the paper is flat and the writing is in focus.
- Check Quality
- Review each photo to ensure the text is readable and the image is not blurry.
2. Uploading to Apple Photos (iCloud Photos)
- Open the Photos App:
- Your photos will automatically be saved to your iPhone’s Photos app.
- Enable iCloud Photos:
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Photos.
- Turn on iCloud Photos to automatically upload your photos to the cloud.
- Check Upload Completion:
- Open the Photos app and ensure all 20 images are present and synced (look for the cloud icon to confirm upload).
3. Downloading Photos to Your PC
- Access Apple Photos on Your PC:
- Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Click on Photos.
- Select Photos:
- Locate the 20 handwriting images.
- Select each photo (you may need to download them individually or in small batches, as bulk download options are limited).
- Download the Photos:
- Click the Download button (cloud with arrow icon) for each selected photo.
- The photos will be saved to your PC’s Downloads folder. Move them to a dedicated folder for your RM Compare session.
4. Uploading to RM Compare
- Open RM Compare on Your PC:
- Log in to your RM Compare account as the Session Creator.
- Create or Open a Session:
- Start a new session or open an existing one where you want to add the items.
- Add Items:
- Click Add Items or the equivalent upload button.
- Select all 20 images from your folder and upload them.
5. Quality Assurance (QA) and Item Naming
- Review Items for Quality and Content:
- Check for Inappropriate Content:
- Carefully review each uploaded item to ensure it does not contain any inappropriate content.
- Check for PII (Personally Identifiable Information):
- Ensure that no items contain sensitive data such as full names, addresses, or other personal information that should not be shared.

- Check Item Orientation:
- Use the Rotate Feature:
- If any item is upside down or sideways, use the “Rotate Items” feature in RM Compare to correct the orientation for easier viewing and assessment.

- Before the session runs:
- Use the “Change Item Name” functionality to rename each item directly within RM Compare.
- Choose clear, consistent names for each piece (e.g., Child1_Handwriting1, Child2_Handwriting1).
- This ensures accurate reporting and data extraction.
- Correct Item Naming is part of your QA process.

- Confirm QA Completion for Each Item:
- After you have completed all checks for an item, use the QA functionality to confirm that QA is complete.
- Click the relevant QA button for each item to record and audit that it has been checked.
- This is essential before running the session, as items cannot be removed or added once the session starts.
6. Removing and Re-uploading Items
- Remove an Item:
- In the session, select the item you wish to remove.
- Click Remove or Delete (follow on-screen prompts).
- Re-upload an Item:
- Use the Add Items button again to upload the corrected or replacement image.
- Rename the new item directly in RM Compare using the “Change Item Name” feature.
- Repeat all QA checks (content, PII, orientation, naming) for the re-uploaded item.
- Confirm QA completion by clicking the QA button for the re-uploaded item.
7. Final Checks
- Confirm All Items:
- Double-check that all 20 items are present and correctly named.
- Confirm QA Completion:
- Ensure that the QA button has been used for every item, recording that all checks are complete.
- Save Your Session:
- Ensure your session is saved before exiting.
