Administration

Administration in RM Compare | Hub provides the controls needed to manage a secure, well-governed assessment environment across your organisation, licence centres and users.

Use Administration to manage who can access RM Compare, what they are allowed to do, how licence centres are structured, and how shared standards are governed across your system.

What administration supports

RM Compare | 🧭Hub can support a range of organisational models, from a single school or department to a multi-centre organisation, awarding body, university, professional body or national assessment programme.

Administration helps you to:

Administration in the Hub ecosystem

Hub is the governance layer within the RM Compare ecosystem.

RM Compare module Primary role
RM Compare | 💻Studio Create standards by comparatively judging work and producing ranks
RM Compare | 🧭Hub Govern, maintain and share standards across organisations and licence centres
RM Compare | 📳Live Use rulers to place new work against trusted shared standards on demand

Administration ensures that the people who create, manage and use standards have the correct level of access at each stage.

For example, an organisation may allow subject experts to create a rank in Studio, permit Hub administrators to publish and share a ruler, and enable teachers or assessors to use that ruler in Live without giving every user access to all administrative or source-material functions.

Administration areas

The Administration section is divided into two areas:

Area Use it to
System Admin Manage system-level settings, users, permissions and governance controls
Licence Centre Admin Manage individual licence centres, including their users, roles and local activity

Roles and permissions

Roles and permissions help ensure that users can complete their work without gaining unnecessary access to assessment content, standards or administration functions.

A typical model may include the following responsibilities:

Role Typical responsibility
System Administrator Configures the overall environment and manages system-wide governance
Licence Centre Administrator Manages local users, access and activity within a licence centre
Assessment Lead Coordinates assessment activity and supports the appropriate use of standards
Judge or Assessor Makes comparative judgements in Studio or applies a ruler in Live
Teacher or Practitioner Uses shared standards for benchmarking, calibration or professional learning
Viewer or Reviewer Accesses approved reports, standards or reference materials without changing configuration

The exact roles available will depend on your RM Compare configuration and the permissions assigned to your account.
