RM Compare | 📳NOW Reporting

Making sense of your reports

The NOW system deliberately prioritises efficiency to get you to your results as soon as possible. The results provided at this point should be seen as generally indicative of the relative quality of your Item compared the the ruler standard. It is not designed for precise grade or score assessment at the moment. We will be producing more advance reporting in the near future.

The Score Report

The Score Results shows the performance of your Item against the Ruler Standard on a 0 - 100 scaled score. This has been calculated from the Comparative Judgement decisions you made.

The score provided for your item is a 'ballpark' estimate at this point of the value of your Item. If you ran the test again with the same Item on the same Ruler we would expect you to get a similar result.

You can try this if you want - just Logout using the selector in the 'hamburger' menu top left and a new session will be available. Re-upload the same Item and complete the Judgements again. This time you will likely see some different ruler Items.

The Grade Report

The Grade Report adds boundaries to the scaled score.

Where the boundaries sit and the relative gap between them, is a decision made by the Ruler Author. Interpretation of the grades would be facilitated by the Ruler Author also.

All Grades should be treated as 'ballpark' at this stage. If you were to repeat the exercise we would expect the Item to achieve the same grade or an adjacent one.

The use of grades vs scaled scores is contentious and to some extent a reflection of personal preference. Our system allows us to learn more about this.
